Sovereign Cloud

Sovereign Cloud & Secure Hosting

In-country, government-controlled hosting - private cloud, on-premises and air-gapped enclaves with key custody and full auditability.

Where data must stay in-country and under government control, public cloud alone is not an option. Cystem X designs and operates sovereign hosting environments - private cloud, on-premises data centers and fully air-gapped enclaves - built around the control and auditability public institutions and defense organizations require.

Key custody is central to sovereignty: encryption keys for sovereign workloads stay under the controlling institution's control, not a third-party provider's, so the institution - not Cystem X or any vendor - decides who can ultimately access protected data.

Air-gapped enclaves support the environments where no live connection to the outside network is acceptable. We design the update and patching process for these enclaves around controlled, auditable transfer mechanisms, so systems can still be kept current without opening a permanent network path to the outside world.

Auditability runs through every layer: infrastructure changes, access events and data movement are logged in a way that supports internal review and external audit, not just operational troubleshooting. This is designed in from the architecture stage, since retrofitting audit coverage onto an existing environment is far harder than building it in from the start.

Because requirements vary - some institutions need full air-gap, others a private cloud with strict access control - we start with a data classification and residency review, then match the hosting model to what the data and the regulator actually require, rather than defaulting to the most restrictive option everywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between private cloud and an air-gapped enclave?
Private cloud still has a network connection, under strict access control. An air-gapped enclave has no live connection to outside networks at all, and updates move through controlled, auditable transfer processes instead.
Who controls the encryption keys?
The controlling institution does. Sovereign hosting is designed so key custody stays with the institution rather than with Cystem X or any underlying vendor.
Can you host workloads that must stay physically within Pakistan?
Yes. Data residency within Pakistan is a standard option for institutions whose data or regulations require it.
How do you patch systems inside an air-gapped environment?
Through a defined, auditable transfer process rather than a direct internet connection, so systems can be kept current without compromising the air gap.
