Manufacturing plant floor with industrial equipment and sensors
3Plant-floor disciplines

Who we serve

Run existing lines smarter, without a wholesale retooling.

Plant managers and industrial IT leaders are under pressure to raise throughput and quality without adding headcount, while the equipment and networks on the floor were rarely designed with modern connectivity or security in mind. Cystem X engineers the sensing, analytics and integration layer that lets existing machines and lines run smarter.

Unplanned downtime is one of the most expensive line items a plant carries. Our AI & Generative AI practice builds predictive maintenance models over vibration, temperature and machine-performance data, flagging equipment that needs attention before it fails rather than after, with the underlying sensor data managed through our Data & Databases practice.

Quality teams are moving from manual and sample-based inspection to continuous computer-vision inspection on the line. Our AI & Generative AI practice builds these inspection models against your existing camera and lighting setup wherever possible, catching defects earlier and more consistently than manual inspection allows.

None of this data is useful if it stays siloed from production planning and maintenance scheduling. Our Software Engineering practice integrates sensor, inspection and maintenance data with existing MES and ERP systems, so the floor and the back office are working from the same picture.

Industrial networks and legacy control systems were not built for today's threat environment. Our Cybersecurity practice runs OT security assessments and segmentation projects tailored to plant-floor networks, protecting production continuity as the priority it is.

What we deliver

From the sensor on the machine to the report on the plant manager's desk.

  • Predictive maintenance

Models over vibration, temperature and machine-performance data, through AI & Generative AI and Data & Databases.

  • Vision inspection

Computer-vision quality inspection built against existing line cameras wherever feasible, via AI & Generative AI.

  • IoT & edge collection

Industrial IoT sensor integration and edge data collection, through Cloud & Infrastructure.

  • MES / ERP integration

Integration so floor data reaches production planning and maintenance scheduling, via Software Engineering.

  • OT network security

Segmentation and security assessments tailored to plant-floor environments, via Cybersecurity.

  • Embedded capacity

Dedicated industrial engineering capacity as a managed service or embedded team, via Managed Services & Talent.

Discrete or process, the approach differs

Toggle between the two most common manufacturing environments.

Assembly lines, unit-level quality and discrete parts tracking dominate. We focus computer-vision inspection on individual units, tie serial or lot-level data back to MES, and build predictive maintenance around the specific machines in the line, not the plant as a whole.

Frequently asked questions

Can computer-vision quality inspection work on our existing production line cameras?
In many cases, yes. We assess your existing camera and lighting setup first and only recommend new hardware where the current setup cannot reliably support the detection accuracy the line needs.
How do you integrate predictive maintenance with the MES and ERP systems we already run?
We build integration layers that feed sensor and machine data into your existing MES and ERP systems rather than asking you to adopt a separate standalone platform, so maintenance and production planning stay in one place.
Can this be delivered without connecting the plant floor network to the public internet?
Yes. Industrial IoT and analytics workloads can be deployed on-premises or in a segmented plant-floor zone, with OT security controls separating production networks from corporate IT and the internet.
What is a realistic first step for a manufacturer new to this kind of project?
Most manufacturers start with a focused assessment: a 2 to 4 week review of one production line or asset class, producing a findings report and a prioritized roadmap before any larger commitment.
Do you work differently with discrete manufacturers than with process manufacturers?
Yes. Discrete manufacturing engagements usually center on unit-level quality inspection and assembly-line data, while process manufacturing engagements center on continuous process variables and batch consistency, and we scope sensors, models and integration work around whichever applies to your plant.
