Cookie Policy

What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that a website can place on your device to remember information between visits, such as your preferences or whether you have logged in. Cookies are also commonly used by third-party analytics and advertising services to track visitors across websites.
The cookies this website uses
Cystem X's marketing website, cystemx.com, sets one strictly necessary cookie, named cx_consent, which stores nothing more than your own choice from the cookie banner ("allow all" or "deny non-essential") so we do not ask you again on every visit. This cookie lasts for one year, is not readable by any other website, and is not used to track you. It does not require your consent under standard cookie-law guidance for strictly necessary cookies.
This website also uses Google Analytics (Google's "gtag.js" tag), which sets a small number of additional cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_*) to help us understand which pages are useful to visitors, in aggregate. Whether Google Analytics runs for you depends on your choice in the cookie banner and, until you choose, on where you are visiting from: if you are in the EU/EEA, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics does not run unless you click "Allow all"; everywhere else, it runs by default but you can turn it off at any time by clicking "Deny non-essential". Whichever choice you make in the banner is honored immediately and everywhere, overriding the default for the rest of your visit. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of any kind.
The contact form on this website runs entirely in your browser and does not store anything on your device beyond what your browser itself may keep (such as its own autofill memory, which is controlled by your browser, not by us).
Why we ask
We use Google Analytics, when permitted, to understand overall traffic and page usage so we can improve this website - not to build individual profiles or sell data. The cookie banner lets you deny this; choosing "Deny non-essential" blocks Google Analytics from loading at all, with no loss of any site functionality.
If this changes
If we introduce any additional cookies, analytics or tracking on this website beyond Google Analytics, we will update this Cookie Policy to describe what is used, why, and how you can control it, and any new non-essential cookie will only be set if you choose "allow all" in the cookie banner.
Managing your choice
You can change your cookie choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page, which reopens the cookie banner.
